The path hugs the water, serving up ever-changing views of Lough Foyle and the cliffs of County Derry across the channel.

Follow the shoreline north and you'll reach the remains of Greencastle's 14th-century castle and the dramatic Napoleonic-era Martello towers. From this vantage point the Atlantic stretches out before you, with seabirds wheeling overhead and the lighthouse sending its steady sweep across the horizon.

For a longer adventure, continue onto the Inishowen Head Loop. The 8km trail winds through heather-carpeted hills, hidden coves, and panoramic lookouts over the Skerries. Pack a picnic from our kitchen and take your time—the photo opportunities are endless.

Edgewater's Greencastle location places you in the perfect spot for coastal adventures. Begin with a leisurely drive to Moville, just 10 minutes away, where colourful shopfronts line the waterfront promenade. Pop into a café for fresh scones before continuing north.

Next, make your way to Malin Head—the most northerly point on the island of Ireland. The rugged landscapes featured in Star Wars Episode VIII are even more impressive up close. Walk the cliff-top trail to Hell's Hole, watch for dolphins, and warm up with chowder at a local pub.

Round off your day at Stroove Beach, a Blue Flag strand less than 5 minutes from Edgewater. Soft sand, gentle waves, and the iconic white lighthouse make it ideal for a sunset stroll before returning to your private hot tub back at the B&B.

Greencastle has long been a fishing village, so it's no surprise that seafood is the star of the menu. For classic fish and chips done right, walk to Kealy's Seafood Bar on the pier. Their prawn open sandwich and chowder are favourites with both locals and guests.
